Opening lead: ÌK
This months hand is from the final Swiss Teams of the Riverside Regional last month. I chose it because a thoughtful play by a member of the squad which won the event is very instructive, and would not occur to everyone.
Your first job will be to analyze the play of this hand at 5Í, when the defense begins with the ÌK winning trick 1, and a low heart continuation. Take your time, planning for as many glitches as you can overcome.
Okay, if youre ready to move on, now I ask you to plan the play when you get the same lead, but trick 2 is a shift to the ËJ.
