This month’s hand is from the finals of the District 22 GNT championship flight playoffs, which was won by the team of Marshall Miles, David Chechelashvili, Rick Roeder and Jason Feldman last March.
The bidding and opening lead was the same at both tables. Trick 2 at one table was a continuation of a high spade; at the other table, West shifted to the Ì9. Your job is to find the best way to make the contract against either defense. Since I was the declarer at one of the tables, I am in a good position to give you the following hint: Take your time to count specifically which 10 tricks you plan to take!
