Contract 6Ê by South
Opening lead, Í5. IMP scoring.
This months hand was reported to me by Bill Hall of Thousand Oaks, California, a frequent partner and teammate of mine. It occurred in an IMP match at the S.F. Nationals, and is a great example of how players of different strengths approach the play of the cards when there is more than just one obvious alternative.
I will warn you in advance that there is no 100% line, so your job on this hand will be to find the line of play at 6Ê which will yield the highest probability of success. Take your time in analysis, since the match may depend on whether you make it or go down. When you have decided, Click Here to check how your answer measures up. And if you find the best answer, you will be allowed to fantasize that you won a match in a national tournament ... even if you werent in attendance!
